Helping your students access the scenario quick tip videos is simple. Either before or after they run the scenario, have them scan the QR code on the top right of the scenario card. It will take them right to that scenario’s video!
Absolutely! If you have never had the pleasure of attending one of Scott’s presentations in person then you are missing out! He has been an educator for 30+ years on the topic of pediatric emergency care and does a fantastic job of simplifying difficult concepts and boiling them down to easy to remember “pearls.” Here is a video taken directly from Scenarios In Seconds – Scenario #1 Newborn Deliveries
Yes. There is the possibility that the only opportunity for someone to receive the help they need or escape a horrible situation lies in the hands of medical professionals. Being able to spot the warning signs and knowing how to safely help is critical. That’s why we have added an entire module of scenarios on the topics of child abuse and human trafficking. If you already own Scenarios In Seconds we will send you these additional 10 scenarios for free. Thank you for your ongoing dedication to saving the lives of children through education.
(Email us at [email protected] if you have any questions)
Scenarios In Seconds is made up of 100 scenarios. These scenarios are divided into 10 online modules. Students can obtain 2.5 credit hours for EMS, nursing and respiratory by completing 1 online module. So yes they can obtain up to 25 hours total if they complete all 10 modules.
The modules are in numerical order, so when students log into the online portion of the program they would have to complete scenarios
(1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 71-80, 81-90, 91-100)
You do not have to start with module 1 scenario #1. You could start with module 10 scenario #91-100 if you wanted. But to receive credit hours you must complete all the scenarios in that module. Instructions for how to log in are on the back of every scenario card as well as the student resources section of this site.
Absolutely! We recommend refilling the vials with sterile saline using a syringe. Also, check out the video below for some other tips about the med pack!
If something were to happen to one of your training kit’s components we would just ask you to send us an email at [email protected]. Please reference your specific training kit access code number, it will either be in the form of a bag tag attached to the outside of your black bag or located near the bottom of the mani-kid boards in a plastic card holder. Let us know what piece/component you would like to replace and we can let you know the replacement cost and get it sent your way.
To access the online modules, simply click the links below! Feel free to copy these and forward to your students. Directions for logging in are located on the back of each scenario card. You can also access the links from the Student Resources page of this site.
Yes! All our systems are compatible with Broselow, Handtevy the Pedi-Wheel etc. We created our system to help you become better familiar and comfortable with what YOUR facility uses for pediatrics.
Our lifesize pediatric patient representations “Mani-Kids” are made of a heavy duty waterproof plastic material. The patients are designed to be light weight, foldable, portable and of course look like real kids. No more using the same CPR manikin and pretending it’s a 2-year-old one day and a 7-year-old the next. If we give you a scenario and say this patient is a 6-year-old, they are and will always actually be a 6-year-old and will measure to their correct color zone for both Broselow and Handtevy. This is important for providers who may not have children, this allows them to visually associate size with age to prevent potential color coding related errors.
Absolutely! You can download a copy here.
